About the author
Since playing with his first head mounted cameras in 1998, Johannes Vockeroth is dealing with point of view shots and cameras. This blog covers products and technologies as well as Johannes own projects and thoughts.
With some ideas in mind I started to study media and comuter science at Dresden Univeristy of Technology at the end of 2000. A workshop about head-mounted cameras, that I gave at “Sehsuechte 2002” short film festival in Berlin/Babelsberg, was the reason to set up my first german home page kopfkamera.de. Because of several requests to the contact form, I started building and selling such cameras to fund my studies in 2004. My diploma thesis in 2007 was about “The combination of a mobile gaze-driven and a head-mounted camera in a hybrid perspective setup” within the EyeSeeCam project in Munich. At the end of 2007 I got funded by a scholarship of the “Bayerische Forschungsstiftung” to start my PhD thesis about the further development of head-mounted cameras.
